Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Might & Magic: Heroes VI

Dear Ubisoft team
after about half a decade of ignoring your products which started with a horrible U-Play experience I've made with assassins creed II, I've accidentally purchased one of your products again on a steamsale two days ago (HOMM VI). Unfortunately I've not been able to even start your game because the pile of garbage your u-play junk is just crashed the moment I wanted to play the game. Here is a video of my accidentally giving your company a second chance: https://youtu.be/anreuozNSCY
Rest assurred I'll pay more attention to what games you guys publish in future so accidents like the purchase of HOMM VI don't happen again.
It's a shame, really. I've used to enjoy a lot of your products. I've played the settlers series (settlers 2 in particular - you didn't have you hands in that one yet though, did you? I just recall blue-byte was involved in that one) for ages. I've loved the HOMM series (3 in particular). Call of Juarez was great and the concept of Assassins creed has blown me away. You produce good stuff... and ruin it entirely with your u-play garbage. That's sad.
I spend a lot of my spare time on video gaming. Rest assured trying to shove your u-play ♥♥♥♥ down my throat has caused a couple of hundred bucks to ride past you during the past 5 years!

Regards,
a disappointed former customer

uninstall uplay, delete uplay folder, get new uplay here ubi.com, install, run as administrator.

@Kai:
I've got more than 100 games in my library. All of them are at least well enough maintained that they run via steam by clicking the play button. If Ubisoft isn't capeable of keeping their game-client (and uneccessary programs noone asks for which need to run in the background anyway) up to date in steam, my game experience ends right there - when hitting the play button.

I've requested a refund for HOMM VI after writing the OP (and review reflecting my "HOMM VI experience"). Steam has accepted my request a couple of hours ago. Ubisoft, you won't see a bloody cent from me as long as you can't get your ♥♥♥♥ together and get rid of U-Play.

See you in another 5 years, perhaps!

Sometimes it is necessary to read the description before you buy something.
"DRM Ubisoft Online Service Platform"
And yes, Ubisoft spit on user problems, as always.

Well, I've planned to avoid products requireing U-Play altogether. By accident I've bought HOMM VI nevertheless, so yes I should have been more careful with my purchase.

However the reason for my refund request is NOT the fact that HOMM VI requires U-Play. This was indeed clearly advertised and it's my mistake if I purchase the produce nevertheless. Sure, I've sighed when I've seen U-play being installed on my system, but wanted to check out the game anyway. The reason why I've requested a refund is that U-Play prevented me from playing the game (see the video in the OP).

I think ubisoft should win the worst company award instead of EA ( maybe then they will wake up)...maybe EA greedy but they got very good customer support pretty smooth game releases and i had zero issues with Origin.
But honestly do as Kai suggested and give the game a shot, i got it like a week ago and i cant stop playing, it still has few minor bugs but nothing crazy and overall its a great game as of 2015!

EA is clearly the worst but yeah I have to agree. Never played a Ubisoft game that I've wanted to exit out of normally, they always crash in some way.
still continues to crash even after uninstalling and running as admin. I also purchased the complete edition but yet did not get all the DLC. Any other ways to fix this game since it has been my favorite since the first one.

if you got complete edition - you got all.
if you uninstall, download and run uplay as admin, then go to game folder:
Steam\SteamApps\common\Might and Magic Heroes VI
and set "Might & Magic Heroes VI.exe" and "Game.exe" - run as administrator.
try. may be itll help.
