The game does not start

I press play button in steam and nothing happens :(
I have installed uplay and i am registered in uplay
Before i have played this game

I have encountered the same issue (If I try to fire up the game from inside Steam, it stalls at the splash screen). A workaround for me is to start the game via the Uplay interface first.

try to disable the steam overlay, that might help because there's an obvious conflict between steam and uplay that neither company deems important enough to fix..

I'm stuck on splash screen as well but re-downloading/installing the game made no difference.
Disabling overlay made also no difference :(
Starting UPlay first and starting the game, UPlay simply re-directs to STEAM and let's STEAM load the game which ends up at the frozen splash screen again.

I also don't run Nvidia as some people said UPlay has issues with latest NVidia drivers. I run Radeon HD 7850 but maybe it's also a driver issue ,..who knows :(

UPlay shows the game as Heroes of Might & Magic 6: Shades of Darkness but STEAM has no DLC by that name. Though the game executable shows in my task-manager as Shades of Darkness. Maybe it has something to do with that but then again..I have no clue at all really :)

I have the same problem my game ends up on a black screen with my cursor laoding and nothing happens tried eveything and this is the first and last ubisoft game i will ever buy :(
