Ubisoft game launcher error code 2

I bought the game on Steam this morning and when i try to run it i get the error Ubisoft Game launcher not found , please reinstall the game . Errror Code 2. I removed all ubisoft files from my pc and tried to install it manually but the installer wont launch. When I try to install Uplay it sents me to a dead link. Please help me !

I reinstalled my windows and it worked :D

same problem, i cant reinstall windows as i have over 1tb of stuff dependant on it, verifying cache files does not help either.

I had the AC 3 cracked version installed long ago... and it somehow altered the ubisoft launcher install so I had to reinstall my Ws... That worked for me.
@Bliss You can format only C partition.. if u have 1 tb of stuff in other drives and u dont touch them you will still have them... Anyway, I don't think much people use C as their primary storage disk these days...

@night, Reformatting my C:\ is the pcworld way of fixing the problem, i appreciate the "help" but it is not helpful to me. I like having a mature OS and I didnt want to mess about reinstalling all of my windows crap and recovering every single linked application for the sake of Uplay.

Anyway I managed to fix it.

I Uninstalled Uplay in Prorgrams and features / add/remove programs. searched regedit for any uplay entries and deleted them. then reinstalled latest version of Uplay from here: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/launcher_installer/UplayInstaller.exe

all you need to do after that is log in to uplay (via desktop shortcut) redeem the game and you are good to go.
