That's how uplay works.
They're selling games through Steam but you need to launch their games through uplay.

They're well aware that no one would buy their games if they only sold them on uplay... No one would use it.

Steam should say.. Bloody cheek really. If i wanted another game client on my machine.. I would choose one..
If you read this STEAM then sort it out..
Ive brought a game on false promise.. I use STEAM for a reason...

no, problem NOT solved. uplay is garbage i do not want on my PC. because it's garbage. they were hacked like a week after installing last time, glad i used unique username/password on it

Then you're resolution is quite simple. You do not play Silent Hunter. Case solved. Kings of the castle get to make the rules. Their rule. You must use UPlay to play Silent Hunter. No UPLay. No Silent Hunter.

I really don't see the big deal anyway but that's just me.

Well if you actually take the time to read the whole store page for silent hunter 5 it says at the bottom you must create a uplay account to play the game.

Aside from that Steam has no control over other companies that want to use their own client to launch a game so it is not their fault and there is nothing for them to sort out.

As well considering that over 90 percent of Ubisoft games require Uplay this is hardley anything new. Its been like this for many many years.

What, you mean in the tiny letters, 4 point print. A hard to find paragraph, mentioning Uplay. A paragraph that is not even located in the minimum requirements section. A stand alone paragraph that is changed in font and tint (darker) so it doesn't stand out against the black background of the store page? Because you know, third client certainly qualifies as a minimum requirement.

How about doing it properly, and making it at least a 12 point print, or like Gamespot does it when they are advising customers Steam will be required for any particular game sold on their site.

The OP has the right to be upset as Steam did a ♥♥♥♥ty job advising customers what is requried to play the game, especially something as important as installing another client. They didn't even list it under game requirements, nor on the game highlight points listed on the right hand side colum.

Uplay needs that too surive and too give them a reason too exist, the true is all will by better without uplay steam is good enouth,no whan need them thats why they force all too install uplay.
