Should i purchase this game
Ok so i have read many reviews and ive seen people who love this game and others say that its just crap. I loved all the silent hunters and since its on sale this weekend im wondering if i should spend money on a game that will either be the greatest or worst game ive bought on steam.

Off Steam for it's current price, NO!

Off UPlay where it's £13 cheaper YES!

i heared the game is very good if you install some mods you can find on and you can learn a lot about SH5 on this site too

but dont buy it from steam because steam wont let you install many mods and some comunity patches, better buy disk version from amazon.

I don't know why but indeed it's WAY more cheap when you buy it directly on Uplay instead of Steam, so be adviced.

I updated my game after installing it, I'm not sure if that's helping or hurting my chances of seeing other's online.

There is a comunity patch too and a lot of mods which make this game awesome, but unfortunately cant be installed on steam version, you need a disk version.
You should check where you can find a helpful community and learn there lots of things about every SH and mods.

Steam version can be modded with any and all Mods that the boxed version can ,

The only thing steam version cannot use is the COMMUNITY made patchs *( actually they were all made by theDarkwraith afaik .. Which do a variety of things . Makes Hydrophone not work on the surface ,, makes enemy airplanes have good radar to find you with .. basically makes the gama a lot harder .. Its hard enough with Realistic Ai Mod ..
But the point is that the proper Patchs will work on the steam version ,, Its only the community patchs that wont ..

Visit the thread in this forum ( do you want to modify SH5 )

It links to subsim and tells exactly the difference between the two versions .

I personally like the others would recommend the boxed version over the steam version , But they overstate teh steam versions limitations ...

In Fact .. If i were not planning on modding the game .. I would go with the steam version ,, Unless the other were just cheaper ..

I would avoid. Just installed and it loaded to the game menu and locks up when trying to start a new campaign. Per Ubisoft and subsim forums, I uninstalled MS Visual C++ 2008 and this didn't fix the problem. I am NOT willing to spend a bunch of time trying to get it to run. My other Windows 7 compatible Steam games all run fine!!!
