Prey - Steam Update v1.02 - Patch Notes

A new update for Prey v1.02 (previously v0.5 beta update) is now available via Steam – see below for instructions.

The Steam update v1.02 includes:
  • ​Fix to prevent Save games from becoming corrupted. Fix also returns corrupted Save games to uncorrupted state.
    ----->Also addresses some additional crashes on map loads.
  • Hacking during the Power Plant reboot no longer causes the reboot to fail to complete.
  • Fix to prevent the Player from becoming stuck in certain circumstances.
  • Nightmares will now always search for the player once spawned.
  • Saving and Loading PC settings will now save correctly for users with special characters in their Windows usernames.
  • Numerous fixes to GLOO to prevent breaking and bypassing collision, prevent corpses from passing through walls and floors.
  • Updated Recycling to prevent infinite material creation.
  • Fix for occasional combat freeze when attacking Phantoms
  • Kaspar’s objective indicator should no longer disappear.
  • Updates to audio mix to adjust volume of music, audio logs, cutscenes.
Note - If a Save file has been previously edited manually, it may not function properly.
Deletion of level.dat files may cause game progression to not function properly.

Awesome! Thank you so much!! I'll try it out tonight and if it fixes our issues I'll switch the review over to positive (which is what it should be for the gameplay and story)!

Glad for the Nightmare update. Hopefully it feels more like a Nightmare instead of a really tall Phantom.
That KASPAR marker was absolutely needed. I got lucky and it spawned inside but others not so much when it spawns outside. Optimization for the reactor room would be nice. I pray for anyone that looks down when entering that room.

Is there gonna be a fix for the "Shipping Problems" quest bug? I had to reload over an hour and a half of progress just to try fixing it. (If you turn on the power before getting the fabrication plans, it causes the quest to never progress once you get the 'Kill the typhon' objective, even if you've killed all of them)

Well...this is gonna make a lot of speedrun times impossible to beat
hope the random item dissappear bug fix comes with patch v1.0
lost 70 psipacks and whole stack materials

Note - The public-beta-patch branch shares the same game Saves as the default branch. If a previously corrupted Save is fixed by switching to the public-beta-patch branch, switching back to the default branch will reintroduce the chance of corruption (this issue to be fixed in a future patch). If a Save file has been previously edited manually, it may not function properly.
Deletion of level.dat files may cause game progression to not function properly.

How to access the Steam Beta:
  1. ​Log into Steam.
  2. Right Click on Prey in your Library.
  3. Select Properties.
  4. Select Betas.
  5. A drop down menu will appear. Select public-beta-patch.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Wait for the game to update.
  8. When done, Prey[public-beta-patch] should appear in our Library.
If it still appears only as “Prey” in your Library, repeat the above steps.

While not in the patch notes I can confirm that the current beta patch fixes this issue for me.

I've asked Arkane about this, will update with answer.

Apparently this is also caused if you save and load after the "Weaver creating a new Phantom" sequence.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it's fixed in this patch. :( I don't have a save from before the Cargo Bay.
