Maybe somebody knows how to fix the black screen on startup...

Been awhile but IIRC the steam version of unleashed doesn't like playing with any resolution that is not the native resolution of your monitor.

I had the same issue. I fixed it based on help I got off this forum (a long time ago). Someone will chime in.
