Arkham City is different, that game is truly a long term rental and nothing else.
Well i had it since release "in another way" its a good game sure but if your computer crash 5 times you gonna have a bad time =)
And honesttly, if you computer crash 5 times you are going to have a bad time, with or without DRM xD
You have every right to, so long as you have been the only one who has benefited from the activations, e.g, you haven't been activating for friends computers etc
No, it's not.
Batman has SecuROM, 10 install activations and 5 machine activations and no revoke. That mean you can install Batman in 5 computers and that's it, you are left with no more machine activations. Or you can install the game 10 times on the same PC and no more activations unless you change hardware.
Shift 2 has a revoke tool to recover your activations and there is no limit on how many times you can install it on the same machine. As long as you remember to deauthorize, it's infinite.
It still sucks but is not the same as Batman.
BTW: Batman AC does have a revoke tool:

TAGES is the worst of the worst, Windows by default will refuse to install the TAGES driver, there are hundreds of stories on the web about people unable to play their games whenver TAGES servers are down.
Doesn't matter if it has a (non working) tool, You are limited in the amount of revokes, and WB won't give more keys after 6 months.
As far as I now, SolidShield is not exactly the old TAGES system than some games have, but something new.
If you can count, you can clearly see that I purchased the game in January of last year. I recently asked them for more activations. Read what it says.

You know, you want to make out that DRM is the devil and the companies that employ it are working against you and I would agree with you that DRM is nasty, unwanted, unnecessary, but you're going beyond that point into FUD.
