Thanks for the warning, that 75% discount almost got me. Guess I wll save the money for a worthy indie tittle or two.

Spread the word. I don't mind one time online activation every time I install, but always online and activation limits is the WORST kind of DRM. I will never buy this kind of garbage. The last game I was fooled to buy with this **** was batman Arkham City, which has installation limitations and even the revoke tool has limitations, like 5, that is pure garbage. I feel like I borrowed the game not buy it.
Raiden_chino 9 JUL 2013 a las 11:24
The game does have a revoke tool incluided in the download on it's main folder, you can manage your activations there. If you can live with that and remember to deauthorize, then the game last forever.
Arkham City is different, that game is truly a long term rental and nothing else.

Well i had it since release "in another way" its a good game sure but if your computer crash 5 times you gonna have a bad time =) :demoticon:
Raiden_chino 9 JUL 2013 a las 12:56
If you computer crash 5 times and you don't replace any hardware, you are gonna be OK. I formated and reinstalled Windows on the same PC and I didn't lose an activation.
And honesttly, if you computer crash 5 times you are going to have a bad time, with or without DRM xD

Honestly, if you bought the game, and got locked out of your purchase because of an activation limit, you should absolutely pirate the game, throw it in your steamapps folder, and launch it from steam.

You have every right to, so long as you have been the only one who has benefited from the activations, e.g, you haven't been activating for friends computers etc

The install limit is something I've come to stomach, but if this has TAGES then I'm not sure. Will have to think about it...

This is the same trash Batman AC has in it, glad I saw this thread. It's not even worth 1 cent to me now.

No, it's not.
Batman has SecuROM, 10 install activations and 5 machine activations and no revoke. That mean you can install Batman in 5 computers and that's it, you are left with no more machine activations. Or you can install the game 10 times on the same PC and no more activations unless you change hardware.

Shift 2 has a revoke tool to recover your activations and there is no limit on how many times you can install it on the same machine. As long as you remember to deauthorize, it's infinite.

It still sucks but is not the same as Batman.
Xaero 9 JUL 2013 a las 19:49
Well, even if you run out of activations, asking for more isn't TOO bad. I've had to do that with Batman Arkham City and NFS Hot Pursuit. It didn't kill me. And actually on Origin, it was pretty easy to just click the Customer Support button and get help through a live chat. Not to say I enjoy fudging around with DRM and finding that these problems do exist, but just to let you know that it isn't as bad as in the past, IE Codemasters DiRT (first DiRT) -- where the game wouldn't even run period. I had to pirate the game I bought, lol and it was my first PC build ever. Not fun.

TAGES is the worst of the worst, Windows by default will refuse to install the TAGES driver, there are hundreds of stories on the web about people unable to play their games whenver TAGES servers are down.

Doesn't matter if it has a (non working) tool, You are limited in the amount of revokes, and WB won't give more keys after 6 months.

Yeah, Batman AC has a revoke limit or at least the nonGOTY do.

As far as I now, SolidShield is not exactly the old TAGES system than some games have, but something new.

You all obviously have never been through the process and so you come across as exaggerators or possibly liars.

If you can count, you can clearly see that I purchased the game in January of last year. I recently asked them for more activations. Read what it says.

You know, you want to make out that DRM is the devil and the companies that employ it are working against you and I would agree with you that DRM is nasty, unwanted, unnecessary, but you're going beyond that point into FUD.
