Is there any significant of a difference between the Steam version and Origin?

So I heard that the Steam version is apparently I heard there was a difference between the two from a user on a post dating back to 2014. The user claims: "The Steam version is known to be subtly different (and not in a good way!) from the DVD and the non-Steam download version."

I just want to know from you guys, is this true at all? Just point me in the right direction because I have been contemplating redeeming my CD key for Shift 2 over to Origin.

In a way, I feel the differences between the two are not as major as I'm anticipating but I'd still like to hear your guys thought.

hi yes there is a difference with the two (steam and origin)

when you play using steam version then you play with others using origin version

about the cd key you mentioned you need to register it to origin to work online
