Sims 3 - University Life: no CD-key!?
I recently just bought my own copy of The Sims 3 - University Life, but i recieved no CD-key... I activate my Sims games over Origin, so im able to 'install' and play my physical copys of Sims expansions aswel. In order to activate my game over Origin, i need a CD-key, but as said, i didnt recieve any. Did this happen to anyone else??
Note, i already wrote to support, but got no answer yet.

If you're purchasing the game elsewhere and activating through Origin, why are on Steam asking how to make it work? I don't understand. This is a different service.

I dont need to make my game work thought Steam, nor install it through Steam, all i need is a CD-key, which i didnt recieve from the start :) and basicly, Steam is where i bought the game, so they should also provide me a CD-key. Origin basicly has nothing to do with this whole thing, im only saying, i bought my game here, in order to play it through Origin, with a CD-key... U can redeem any kind of EA game through Origin with a CD-key :) I did it with all my other Sims games, and it was my plan to do it again.

A ton of people incl myself also got this exp pack from Steam and received no cd key OR GAME. It's broken and they won't give you any kind of help so basically you just lost that money and you're better off buying it again, elsewhere.

Same thing here... I would ask for a refund from Paypal but I'm afraid to do that as then Steam might suspend my account. I hope Steam support will resolve this issue for me.

I honestly found Origin better for that, cuz Origin also supports physical copys, and Steam doesnt... I honestly dont know what happened, but im tired of just throwing 40 euros out of the window... I hope we'll get some help eventually, or ill also have to ask for a refund.

Well now I managed to redeem my codes in Origin, I hope Steam support would some day manage to send me the CD key of University Life so I could finally redeem that too in Spore and never touch TS3 in Steam again.

you may have to wait for the key. apparently, the last expansion for TS3 released on steam didn't have the CD key until a week later.

I just got a reply from support.. Steam really has the worst support ever, always have and probably always will.

ROFL. Wow. That's pretty great. "It's not our fault our system is broken and we didn't give you a CD key. Go contact the dev. It's their fault obviously." God.. WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ ARE THE DEVS GOING TO DO ABOUT YOUR SERVICE? Good thing I didn't get this expansion.

Mhm. My response, I guess I'll know in a couple days to a week if they can give me my key.. .... ..

Why can you people never read a ticket right. My problem is not with anything but STEAM.

The game was bought ON STEAM, the game was gifted ON STEAM, the game disappeared ON STEAM, I want my CD-Key FROM STEAM so i can take it elsewhere. Look in the discussions page of Sims 3, a lot of people are having this problem where they don't get a cd key. It's just gone.

Surely you can see it was gifted to me 3-4 days ago? I want the CD-key from that purchase, thanks.

Damn that is a total joke, they better fix this sooner or later.
Hessu-Kessu Mar 11, 2013 @ 9:19am
I'm trying to be understanding here, because I believe it's not all Steams fault the game is not working. I've never had any problems with games before, and it seems that when ever someone I know has had problems, it's always been with Ea games. :/

But I agree, this is getting to be really annoying, because I really want to play the damn game already.

EA and Steam has never been good friends, haha, because EA never wanted Steam to 'support' their games fully, or something weird like that... EA got their own service called Origin, and thats the only reason why they wont let Steam do it... I only chose to run Origin because i needed to be able to run my physical copys of Sims aswel, because Steam apparently doesnt support that... Its kinda getting out of hand this whole situation, but Steam and EA will have to do something eventually, because all theyre doing now, is making a bad name for themselves...
Camper Mar 11, 2013 @ 12:32pm
Yeah I think this is indeed about struggle between Steam and EA's steam copy Origin... I hope I will just get the CD key some day so I will get the DLC to Origin which is apparently the only true platform that supports TS3.

For a while I will be busy reinstalling other stuff though, my Steam went mad and had to flush everything, now I got to reinstall all my games.

Try Origin customer support. Explain your reasons and they'll register the game for you.
