Mod & Custom Content Installation

To install the mods and custom content using .package files :

Create a folder called Mods under My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/
create a text file with notepad and put the lines below :

PackedFile Test/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Test/*/*/*/*/*.package

PackedFile Probation/*.package

Save the new text file as Resource.cfg in the My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods folder.

Then in your Mods folder, create the folders Packages and Overrides.

By the above, you can actually sort your packages (mods and custom content) in to separate folders 5 deep. In the Mods/Packages folder, I created the following folder list :

!Mods/!nRass // I put all nRass mods here (Optional : separated into their own folder).
!Mods/Sliders // any slider mod I put there (note that sliders crash the latest patch for me)

Any other way you want to sort out your custom content, including mods is all up to you. By clothing type, gender, age, etc, ad-nauseum...


Before starting your game up, delete the cache files in the My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder.
