Sims freezes every few seconds

I bought the game during the special deal, and it worked perfect for the first couple hours, then I went to the gym in game and it it started freezing every few seconds (except the green diamond keeps spinning and music keeps playing so it's not a complete freeze). The freeze lasts around 3 seconds then resumes normally, and then freezes again every 20-30 seconds. I have a high end laptop so it can't be that. I tried the resetSim*, and cleared the cache's, and still nothing. I hope someone out there knows a fix. The only thing I haven't tried was a full re-install but I would like to avoid that if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

frezzes like this are hard to fix, specially since reset sim + only answer most people got for you here. Did you ever think of using mods
i know i few that fixed a lot of people's games, OVERWATCH (by nraas) be a big help at times.

other lag can be from animal spawns and there a mod to turn them down/ off which help a lot of people with pets.

are you playing at max? try turning down your lot detail to 6 instead of 8.

reinstall is not worth the time, cause most likely it something in game causing it ,and not your system yourself.

Resetsim doesn't work, but i'll try Overwatch.

So I was doing Resetsim while at my home, but this time I went into the city and then entered ResetSim, and POOF!!! It worked! Now anytime that glitch happens, which is rarely, and most likely during or after a visit to town, i just go back to town and Resetsim. Hopefully this helps others with this problem.
