must have DLC for the first time sims 3 player?
Hello there! my fellow sims players =D

i've got to say I'm excited about the sims 3 sales and been trying to buy this game... (I had to wait until the sales!)

I've noticed that EA has released so many DLCs... and I hate to waste my money for some decorative stuff... Any DLC you guys strongly recommend that expands the game play?

any honest opinion is appreciated thanks!

Expansion Packs:

World Adventures: You can go to 3 different themed places France, Egypt, and China. It adds Nectar(wine) making, fireworks, and Karate. I have it but actaully never traveled but i usaully teach many of my sims Karate.

Ambitions: Adds a few new fully interactive jobs firefghter, Private Investigator, Ghostbuster, Stylistm, and Private Eye and you can become self-employed(Artist, Inventor, and Writer). I use a lot of stuff from this expansion but the jobs can get a little too involved as some have no time frame and crazy starting hours

Late Night: Adds clubs, bars and dive bars also adds celeb status. It is a fun expansion to get your sims out at night and have some fun.

Generations: Each life stage has more thing to do like teens learning to drive or can baby site, kids having imaginary friends, adults going through a midlife crisis so it is great for family building sim players

Pets: Adds Pets which is good for pet players

Showtime: Pretty much improves on Late NIght by letting your band go on tour and a few other careers but it also adds the facebook like socail aspect to the game

Supernatural: Adds a bunch of supernatural creatures to the game and a lunar cycle

Seasons: Add Seasons and Holidays with different activities for each,

So really it is all on how you want to play the sims.

If you're only going one more of what you've already listed, Ambitions would be my recommendation. More variety in career options will open up more opportunities and give you a better idea of the things you do enjoy in the game. Pets is good, but i would suggest World Adventures or Generations before pets.
