Probably a quick fix for somthing or on the way to preping for the content thats due to relase this week or next that 70,80s 90s thing at a guesss

I believe it was just a prep because no one else other than Steam recevied it and core-mods are not spazzing out about it.

To install this update, please start your game and use the “Updates” tab in your Launcher.

This game update includes the following changes:

Base game updates:

Fixed an issue where Sims could not get married.
Fixed an issue where Sims could not use the telescope.
Fixed an issue where Sims could not collect space rocks.


Create a world updates:

Fixed an issue with saving worlds in Create A World.
Worlds will now install and appear on the main menu properly when downloaded. Worlds do not need to be resaved for this to apply. Any worlds that were affected by this issue can be reinstalled via the launcher and will appear in the main menu.


Store updates:

Fixed an issue where several Store sets were not appearing in the appropriate room category in Buy Mode.

this was the origin update a week ago.. steam never got it .. so i think this might be up.

^That is 1.47 mate. We received it. Yesterday was 1.48 but I don't believe it's in effect or else I'll be receiving a message like "HOLY HOT-CAKES CORE MIS-MATCH ESCAPE ESCAPE ESCAPE"

What update tab on sims 3 launcher< there isnt one

At least not on the Steam Version of the Sims 3 launcher, If there is one please tell me where all I have are the play ,welcome,download,upload, installed content tabs on mine.
I had a major problem with a Corrupted CC file and had to delete and reinstall, The sims community website is saying I need updates, and I cannot reinstall content from it that I could just days ago, because it says I need a update.

Sims 3 on Steam does not have an update tab because Steam automatically updates for us. that message was just a snippet from the patch notes and the only outside update we get is for the store.

I guess you didnt see the part about not being able to install items that I could a few days ago, because game launcher and installer says I need to update game.

Verify Cache (Properties>Local Files>>Verify Cache) or even delete The Sims 3 folder (Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3) while obviously saving anything important beforehand and then verify cache.

So I got tired of trying to get game to fully update. So I unistalled, then downloaded the games from origin with the cd keys I bought from steam, now the game is fully patched. And I dont get anymore your game need update messages. And actually the current patch is 1.48.6

Well, whatever the latest patch that Steam pushed out was, it fixed the "crash upon save" after building bug I had (I think it's something to do with The Sims 3 Seasons).

Guys & Gals here's the info on our update

This game update includes the following changes:

Fixed an issue with Korean, Japanese, and Chinese languages where English text was appearing for The Sims 3 Supernatural and The Sims 3 Seasons.
Fixed an issue where audio for the new radio stations in The Sims 3 70s, 80s & 90s Stuff was not working properly.
