Very long loading time
Why is it so long to load a city? For me it can take like almost 5 minutes or the about.

I know this doesn't help too much, but mine takes roughly 10-15 minutes to load.

Its because of all your skills, friends, memories and other info loading up, the more you been playing in a game the longer it takes to load due to the above

Sometimes it can be refreshing starting over but if you built your own smart little house, you can always bring it over to the new one and have new occupants

is this first time loading the world.. or loading a save.. loading a world for the first time takes the longest , cause it trying to place lots from other eps in there as well.

if it a save. i got no idea .. for my game to boot.. and load a save.. it 3 minutes. only worlds as big as los angelos take 5 minutes (and thats with boot up sims 3 time)

I also noticed that the first loading takes longer to complete. The first time it took around 5 min to complete. The seconth time I loaded the same world, it took more or less than 2 min (which is reasonable, I think).

Modding helps A LOT, mods such as NRaas Overwatch[nraas.wikispaces.com] and Mastercontrol[nraas.wikispaces.com] help keep your game clean and allows you to easily clean it up yourself such as turning off memories and deleting them which have been known to clutter the game and derelict cars which over time can pile up in the thousands.

If you do not know how to install mods refer to here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files

It takes long yes... you NEED to use the mods like NSOverwatch to make this game a hell more stable.

Seriously go and install the mod NSoverwatch it will make your game perform way better in cities, it cleans up all the crap that shouldn't be running anyways.

Or you could put your sims, house and all content into the family bin and move to another location. You lose your friends but not the skills and items you have.

The more mods and expansions you got the longer it'll take to load, every expansion I add adds about 30 seconds to the time it used to load, 10-15 for a stuff pack.

Its mostly because the game was coded in the era before multi-core processors and such were used, so the game is basically using a single core, a small ram cap, ect.

Will an SSD drive remedy the issue? I haven't played the game in a while and I'm planing on getting one soon.

Moving the files to an SSD barely helped my (irritatingly long) loading times at all. ymmv
