No "Updates" tab in my Launcher
I seem to be missing something when trying to update this game with the latest patch. I've uninstalled all of my CC (including Riverview), and the game is now as it was when I first bought it (from Steam). There are also several add-ons installed. The latest patch posts here, and on EA, instructs to click on the "Updates" tab in my launcher, but there is NO updates tab anywhere in the launcher, or the screen following the launcher if I try going to the next game load level. Don't know if it makes a differrence, but I bought the Sims3/Showtime version of the game which was on sale in December, and the key has also been registered at Origin. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, did you find a solution?

Never mind. Apparently, the game updated automatically in the background.

Is there anyway to force Steam to check for an update? The game updated on my laptop, but not on my desktop - can't download or use anything from the Exchange now.

How did you register you cd key at EA/Origin? Keeps telling me my Steam key is invalid.Do i need to download Origin to play this game?

You need to go here first to either create an account, or login if you already have one.

http://www.thesims3.com/home.html

Then go to

https://www.thesims3.com/registeragame.html

and register the base game, using the serial number from your Steam account, which should give you free Simpoints, and access to a free downloadable town (Riverview) and a Prius car, then register each expansion pack (which come with their own free DLC content).
