The Sims 3 Crash!
I recently installed The Sims 3 (base game, Pets, High-End Loft Stuff, and Town Life Stuff) on Steam. I am able to launch the game without issue, though when I go to CAS, the game freezes after about 10-20 minutes of gameplay. I am able to do most anything else without incident. Any suggestions?

I have the Base Game, High-End Loft Stuff, and Town Life Stuff installed and have the same issues as you. It loads the autorun menu from steam and everytime I click the play button it just crashes. Dont't know if the update they released has anything to do with this?

My fiancee has the same issue. The game runs fine for a while then just freezes up completely. I can't find any reason on her computer why it would do this.

I have the exact same issue, except it happens when I enter 'Map View' in-game. I'm not sure if it's the Steam over-lay that's conflicting with the game or it might be something else.

I had the same issue, I updated the graphics driver for my computer and the DEP trick... You can find the DEP trick on mod the sims. One of those solved my error, but now I have this weird freeze during gameplay where everything freezes except the rain and plants.

Like everyone else who commented, I have the same issue that started a little while ago. At first I was unable to create a family with a pet without it crashing but after testing on other familes I was finally able to create one without Pets. I was just went about like that, making families and later on adopting a pet kind of annoying but I'll manage. I should also mention that I have Supernatural, Pets, and High End Loft for my DLC's. But now I suddendly can't play. I load up just fine but as soon as I click on family to play, after it enters, my Sims will just freeze. I get a little box that says along the lines, sims has encountered an issue and needs to close. Been like this going for a week.. I have no idea how to fix it.

Same issue no solutions. I'm convinced there is no solution and that we were all ripped off.

mines now started to crash like every 2 mins, rather annoying when it takes about 10 to load the actual game...saying that i have it on the exact same spec computer in another room ( that my little sister uses ) and hers has never crashed once.

on loading sims there were some iffy bugs that avg was finding, i googled and sims can crash to protect the computer from virus', i have downloaded some content so im wondering if its one of these causing the problem. im hoping a full scan and delete of a few things will help out

I found out today that I'm having an issue launching the game cause I just came back today to play it and it had an update so i let it do the update and when i tried to lauch the game, it decided that it doesn't want to fully launch anymore. I've been trying to figure out what's going on but I can't seem to find anyone who knows whats up. so is there anyone here that knows or ideas on what might be going on?

Have you tried to activate VSync in your graphic-card options?
