Window 8 and the whole EA universe
recently bought a new pc and I'm very unhappy to find that sims 2 does not run on it. I've heard similar stories with Sims 3 and, having unearthed the game that I bought originally it doesn't even get past loading the install wizard, thus re-inforcing what I'm seeing on the sims community forums.

Have any of you lovely peeps here had success running the steam copy on Windows 8? If so, did you have to do anything fancy to do so? Also, if you are running it successfully on 8 do you use home, pro or ultimate as I'm debating on whether to look at upgrading to Pro to see if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance :)

and just to qualify the title of this thread - it's not only sims that don't work on 8. There's an awful lot of EA games that won't run on 8 including all the Mass Effect games :(

Not sure what your problem is. It installed, and runs, perfectly on my Win.8 Home laptop.

Maybe try running the wizard in compatiblilty mode for XP or Vista.
