Sims 3 + Pets and Securom Activation Limit
So.. I bought sims 3+pits from origin and i've found out that it is limited to 5 activations, so I removed the origin version which cost me 30 euro.
The question is, if I buy sims 3+pets from steam, will it be securom free? no problems?
Is there any way to use the origin license in steam?

The sims 3 page doesn't mention securom, but in all the sims 3 EXPANSIONS you can see under the License agreement that it uses securom and activation limit.

Can someone with sims 3 PETS can please verify this? is this a typo or not?
if you are no sure:
- check in the launcher if u have a checkbox in "updates" tab.
- search in your computer for "securom", sims 3 origin creates 2 securom files, tmp and dat.

thank from advance,
securom hater.

If there isn't a way to transfer the license i will just purchase it in steam, but i must be sure that pets isnt infected with securom limitation.

I do know that the steam keys work on origin, BUT i was unaware of securerom having any kind of limit. I only thought securerom was a piracy defense.

can anyone with sims 3 + pets on steam check if securom checkbox exists in the launcher? it's supposed to be in the updates tab.

You mean that? I have all the expansions up to Showtime and the launcher doesn't even have the updates tab. I even tried to update the launcher, but it still wasn't there. It only has the first four tabs (Welcome, Downloads, Uploads, Installed Content). I haven't even noticed that the store pages says that some expansions have the securom. I ran the Securom diagnostic tool and it didn't even find anything Sims 3 related, although it did find it in other games that I know having it (GTA IV, some Borderlands DLC, both Batman games and Crysis).

I'm guessing this means that there is no securom whatsoever in the Steam version. Does anyone know for sure?
