Sims Needs Installing EVERYTIME

What the hell? Everytime I go to play the game it says it needs to reinstall, it tries, finds the old data, uses it, and loads it up.

It takes about 5 minutes everytime and is a huge pain in the ass.

Why is Steam forcing a reinstall if it's not needed? :/ Never had this problem with other games but Sims is notorious for a whole host of issues, I know.

Are you using Windows 10? Sometimes the permissions stop Steam writing the little thing it needs to write to say "installation complete". It can help to run Steam as an administrator.

Does this only happen with The Sims 3? If so you'll need to contact Steam support about it, something sounds way corrupted. If all else fails try contacting EA, although good luck getting them to do anything that's actually helpful.

Also try clearing the game cache.
