Cant find CD key/want to play on origin

Ive just brought the sims 3 and have a mac but i was hoping to use the cd key and play on origin but cant find it anywhere and hasnt come with email recepts either

You won't see the CD key until you install it on Steam. It will be visible once installed on Steam.

If you're playing on a Mac, the easiest way to work around the PC-only problem is to find a friend with a PC, download/install your purchase on their machine (this will generate the keys you want for Origin) using your Steam account, then uninstall it (and possibly Steam, too) from their machine. Don't let their Steam installation remember your password and you'll be fine and their machine doesn't even need to be able to run the game; just the launcher. You're going to hog their bandwidth for however long it takes for everyting to download (if you bought the whole shootin' match it's about 32GB), but once it has been done once, you'll have your keys and can get the Mac version from Origin.

if you can just click install, download for a second then pause it,Go to library right click Sims 3 copy the key. I bought the game and some dlc on here to use on origin and downloaded less than 5MB.

Interesting. I've always worked under the idea that the key was dished after the download completed rather than when it started. If so, then you just saved a bunch of time and bandwidth.
