Dead Space 2

Can 2.5GHz run Dead Space 2 that requires 2.8GHz?
I want to know if my 2.5GHz can run Dead Space 2 smoothly, which requires 2.8. I want to know this before I buy. Any suggestions? Help?

maybe if you hav a good graphics card or if your processorgeneration/amount of processors is superior to the one in the system requirements. it also depends on the definition of the word "smoothly".

Pentium (R) Dual Core. My graphics card is an Nvidia 9400 I believe.

By smoothly I mean without delays for controls, sound delays, and blocky, laggy, graphics.

CPU below spec, GPU barely above.

'Smoothly' is not a part of this equation.

by dual core, is it one of the single cores with ht? (taskmanager shows it as dual because its 2 threads)
use cpuz to find out for sure
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

either way, itll probably run, but nowhere near smooth

The CPU needs to be faster. At a faster clock speed, if the CPU is a 2011 model or newer, then it would meet the system requirements as a Sandy Bridge Pentium dual-core CPU is several generations ahead of an old Core 2 Duo. You could probably run it on low settings @ 30 fps and 1024x768 resolution, but don't expect smooth gameplay.

So what i'm hearing is that it will run with blocky laggy graphics, even if I turn the quality all the way down...which defeats the purpose of dead space. right?

This guy. If your crappy computer has terrible specs, how in the world do you believe you can run this game?

I run it smoothly on an i5 @ 2.5 GHz (it is a 4 threads CPU), and Intel integrated graphics HD3000, at 1440x900 resolution, of course with AA turned off.

What exactly is AA? Im a little rusty...and I Only have a duo, not an i5, so would I be able to run it smoothly?

soooo, summing it all up, I won't be able to run DS2, with my current system, correct?
Captain Trump 2013 年 2 月 2 日 下午 1:16
I have 2.2 Ghz on my mobile core i3 and laptop integrated graphics (intel)
So if I can run it you can too, on lowest though

Ok so obviously I won't be able to run DS2, but how about DS1? My requirements seem to match up alright.

try to find a demo or borrowversion of the games and try it yourself. thats the best way to decide if its playable for you.

or just wait some time until the gameprice is low enough and buy it. if its not playable then wait until you hav a better computer. A DVD or a file on the HD lasts at least 25 years. :-)
