Just about to start Dead Space 2 for the first time - DLC question
So i bought the franchise and i have all the DLC... no i read that in dead space 2, you get the DLC from the get go, and it can make the game.... more in your favour?

Just want an opinion before i figure out how to remove the DLC- does it really detract from the game having it from the start?

The DLC was pre-Steam, non PC. When DS2 came onto steam, EA decided to dump the DLC on the game. Get it or ignore it if you want.

Its just free stuff in shops, you can just not buy it in game.

If there is a simple way to disable it for the first play through, then I'd say go for it. It's just free weapons and armor in shops, but it can make the situation feel a whole lot less desperate.

Just ignore it, yo don't need to buy it. If it's free, don't touch it.

You can use the CD Key from the steam version to activate the game on origin, and origin's version doesn't have the crazy free weapons and armor in the shop, on top of that, once you install it from origin you don't need to run origin to play it

The first time I played through I was wondering why all those weapons and armor were 0 Credits and I just assumed I would find their schematics eventually. Only in my New Game+ did I realize I could acquire them for free. I probably would have tried out the DLC on my first playthrough had I known I could acquire it, but not using the DLC definitely added to the experience of the game especially the first time through. Play the game as it was designed to be played. Just my $0.02
