can someone plz explain to me the story behind Dead space? Spoiler inside

ok, so i played dead space 1 for about 1 hour or so but i could'nt get into it, not the game itself, but rather the gameplay which seems claustrophobic, or more like i hated the controls. Seems like the game was made for consoles. I recentely got dead space 3 for free due to EA giving out free copies to people who got SIm city.

I fired up dead space 3 and enjoyed the compact and the atmosphere. I decided to get back into the series and try dead space 2, which in my opinion, so much better than dead space 1 as far as controlls .

I would like someone who is familiar with the series to explain the story behind dead space 1 and leave it where dead space 2 starts,I understand that Isac is an engineer who volunteered to fix some ship and then they found out that there are some creatures there from some cult or some experiement. Please help me understand the story behind the first game, so i can enjoy the 2nd game knowing what is actually going on

http://deadspace.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Space should fill in the gaps. I agree DS2's controls were alot better, but didnt stop me from playing through DS1 a few times on pc Its worth the pain though in my opinion.

I dont think iam going back to dead space anytime soon. Iam gonna play dead space 2 then hit the 3rd one. I just love dead space 2, reminds me of Fear .

I don't know if this helps at anything DEAD SPACE but if you whant to under stand more of dead space history i invise to play the first one i know of the wierd unconforteble control it has so i but a xbox 360 controler to help me with the game.

Game spoiler in the story of dead space is that it all started in a planet cracker named uss ishimura this ship was the first planet cracker so basicly the intier campian was over run of some kind of infection of necromorfs that came out from the "RED MARKER" the very first marker made by human...
the rest of the story you must play it and read it because i found some info of tau volantes the found by Eli i hope this info help you on any thought in the game.

so you whant more info of the game like: basicly the very first marker was the "BLACK MACRER" it landed in the planet earth and they found that it can give us unlimited resourses and power but with a horrable consicens and that is were the necromrfs infection came out...

O and i play'd dead space 1 its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scary and i finished it in 3 days its beuase you need to take breakes or you completely lose your mind and i all ready did but if you need any more info find ["ERROR"] thats my and i will anwser any question you have of the game or if you whant to talk in person find ["ERROR"] in skype ok and no problem on that small resumery on dead space.

well in the 25th century he earth resources were exhausted they built a planet cracker the ishimura the first and famous they cracked planets one by one then greedy people went to the forbidden planet ageis 12 were they discovered the marker were they thought it was supposed to save them insted it made necromorphs on planet ageis 12 the colonys were over runned so they returned to the ishimura were they brought the marker in hours the ship went dark were a rapair crew was sent a group of 5 one of them is isace clarke leading to the events (no spoilers)
