Loading Problems
So my game seems unable to load checkpoints after I die. It just gets hung up on the loading screen and if it somehow manages to load, my game becomes bugged and I can't access my plasma cutter or open doors. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

I just started another play through and noticed the same thing. Strangely, I never had this problem before despite having played through the game multiple times. Now I'd estimate about 50% of the time the game will hang on the loading screen after dying. Not sure what could have changed since the last time I played, but it definitely seems like something new.

So selling all of my DLC weapons I had on me and in my safe seems to have fixed the checkpoint glitch for me. You should give it a shot if you still have not found a solution yourself.

Do you wear DLC armor by any chance? I've sold all DLC weapons but i dont know if i can wear DLC armor. Do i need to keep it in the inventory to fix the game loadings?

I wear the regular armor, but I do have all the DLC armor in my safe still.

how did you manage to get the DLC armor-and-weapons for the Steam version of "Dead Space 2"? I now have the Steam version myself, and i'm just wondering about this as well

well i dont know honestly, i just got to the first store and was abashed by finding there tons of armor and weapons. I was supposed to find refubrished plasma cutter for i have DS 1 save, but i didnt expect to have other dlc's.

I think one of the patches gave everybody the DLC.

even the Hacker Suit, and those 4 special unlockable rooms (if one owned the "Dead Space: Ignition" game originally)??
