"You're Doing it Wrong" achievement
It says to complete the game without activating an item, but how is that possible when there are special battles that you have to activate a special item like the tub of molten metal or whatever. Do they make an exception in those cases? There's no other way to win those because they have a time limit on how many moves you can take and the boss has 999 life and only the special item will do that amount of damage.

I just had this question myself last night while working on this achievement. On this post it looks like one of the developers responds to this question and says, "...you will be allowed to use the Hammer of Righteousness and the Molten Metal while attempting this achievement BUT NO OTHER ITEMS (so water buckets, torches and caps should NOT be used)."

Ok, good. I've already made it past the one where you use the torch and that was tough! I had to try it three times because the enemy kept healing. I'm playing as an assassin. Once I get all the "strike" spells I can just wail on the enemies with cascades of damage, especially when it gets doubled. I sure hope this works. I will be majorly ticked off if I get to the end and don't get the award after all this trouble. It's amazing how much better the game is with items, especially poison.
