this one? id like to say to buy it, ive been playing stronghold since it started, this one is missing a lot of content its actually saddening. it has a lot of bug tons of unfinished material, it bad but i do enjoy playing it at times. your best bet is finding stronghold 2 its much better. otherwise you could wait till the creators update this one.

Do not buy this game, it's terrible. I have also played all of the prior Stronghold titles.

If nobody buys the game the bugs won't be fixed >.<

I recomend that people absolutly NOT buy it. There are a lot of reasons, but I do not feel like writing about all of them. One the reasons is that the maps in Stronghold 3 are very small compared to those in the older Stronghold games. I used to love building huge thriving metropolises; no can do in SH3. I also hoped that the game creators would add more buildings to the game. However, they did not; the buildings available in SH3 are the nearly same as those available in the earlier games. The selection hasn't been expanded at all. Also, SH3 has bugs. For example, troops get stuck all the time. You select them and tell them to move, but they won't go anywhere. The only major improvement between SH3 from SH2 and SH1 is the graphics.

Probably the biggest let down of 2012 :(

it was a major letdown, but many issues gameplay-wise were well visible even before the game came out. I was writing a lot on the forums yet people blindly wasted their money on a half-finished game ... many things didnt make sense and battles were never big because of engine limitations etc. Dont get me started on other things Major fail this game. I was cautious after SH2 because it failed in some places, it brought good things too. SH3 was unplayable for many people for a very lnog time. The game is also no longer patched .

You have a source for this?

I came here after seeing it was on sale today and wondered if they had fixed the game yet. If it's as good as it's gonna get, that is pretty disappointing.

i'm going to wait for the bug fixes. if it's no longer being patched, i'll pass.

The game (Stronghold 3) will not be patched any more. At least it does not have any planned patches. link []
The Stronghold Collection is totally worth buying and SH Crusader is my favorite RTS of all time.
Stronghold 3 is not a good game; it feels rushed and has a lot of bugs. There is a reason for this though. The publishers wanted the game to be released and forced FireFly to release an unfinished game. FireFly is now an independent developer and is currently developing Stronghold Crusader 2, which I am really excited about!
I urge you to at least buy the Collection and let FireFly know that we want them to release a good new Stronghold and cross our fingers they deliver.

Give it a miss. The developers decided to go "GG" and call it quits in terms of fixing the bugs and overall updating this game. You shouldn't rely on community mods just to fix a broken game.

I agree, but since you mention it, are there community mods that give the game a more finished and polished feel?
