Is it bugged?

I bought the longest Journey and there were so many glitches including flickering video, I've never played again, is this the same?

Yes, I can't get the game to work at all. Starts up with a black window in the upper left of the screen and you can hear the game music, but not actually see or play the game. Lame ripoff.

gog is the way to go then, too bad is way more expensive and rarely get's into sale :(

I got it to work by lowering my WIndows desktop resolution from 2560x1600 to 1920x1200. Now the game works, which is stupid because the game is fixed at 800x600 or something like that (I'd have to double check again), so regardless of what resolution your desktop is at, the game is always the same resolution. Makes no sense then that it crashes depending on what the resolution is of Windows itself. Game developers need to get clued in more about testing things like resolution and making their games handle all possibilities, not just the common ones out there. It really isn't that hard to do this. How do I know? Because I am a retired video driver developer and game hacker myself. :)

Anyhow, once the resolution was set to 1920x1200, the game starts and runs fine. I played it for about an hour I think with no problems. Sadly, I have to manually change my Windows desktop resolution before and after starting this one game, with no obvious way of making it do that automatically. Lame. Incidentally, judging from comments on GOG forums, the GOG version of the game has this problem as well. That's actually where I found the workaround. ;o)

no problems here on win7 x64. the resolution isn't great, but you can run in windowed mode if you want

Hehe, you don't buy a 30" monitor if you like running things in small windows. ;o)
