Resolution Fix
Is there a resolution fix somewhere out there? And if not, how hard would it really be to make one? I am referring to the scaling errors and popping of the menu bar.

Update: I have received an answer of sorts from one of the lovely people at Microïds. Here is what I am at liberty to say.

While it is possible to upscale pre-rendered graphics (as anyone can do with an image on Photoshop for example), all the original assets exist (backgrounds, character models and textures, music, etc).

Officially, there is no plan to release a update/remastered edition (along the lines of what was done with Grim Fandango) at this time.

HOWEVER.... Syberia 3 is being worked on and is "on track" for release. When that happens or shortly before, "there may be something to announce then".

I second this, running on a 1080p screen with a little 800x600 box in the middle is pretty annoying!

Problem is the art was prerendered at a certain resolution, meaning it would need to be stretched and cropped to fit higher resolutions (especially widescreen).
Everything would have to be redone for it to look correct and crisp.

then set your awesome 1080p screen to keep aspect ratio(unless u like to have 4:3 screen stretched to 16:9) and fit to screen...or u can use graphic card drivers to set the same, adding high FSAA will help with persons(cause they are 3D models)

I saw on Internet this tip:

You can, you just have to know how.

Create a player.ini file in your Syberia folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Syberia) and paste "800 600 16 0 BaseCMO.cmo" into the file, without the quotes, and save it. The 4th number is what you can change, 0 = windowed mode and 1 = full screen.

This is not what I mean by a resolution fix. Look at Dark Souls 1 and 2 for examples.

I hope someone at some point can make this happen.

I don't think you fully understand what Plaid is saying. The backgrounds are NOT 3d, they are paintings rendered in 800 x 600 resolution. You can try to raise the resolution as much as you want, but the paintings will still remain 800 X 600. The character models on the other hand are rendered in 3D so they will look sharper running in 1080p.

It will look very strange running in 1080p. The character models will look very nice and sharp, but the backgrounds will be very pixelated.

Dark Souls 1 & 2 are already rendered in 3D so simply raising the resolution is easy.

Then name one pre-rendered game which has a resolution option... whoops you can't because there is none, since pre-renderer graphics REQUIRES a fixed resolution.

Not trolling..just telling the truth..you cannot make pre-render graphics looks any better because it is not 3D...

You really don't know anything about 3D graphics or how resolution works so therefore you are making yourself look like a damn fool...
