I cant play the game

it said me there is not a 3d acelerator or something like that im spanish and i dont know how to traduct this
No hay acelerador 3d disponible o bien su tarjeta 3d no posee las funciones requeridas para este juego o bien se ha producido uun erro y hace falta reiniciiar su ordenador

Of course there is something you can do about it! I found this on the forums:

Go to STEAM folder, SteamApps/Common/Syberia

Right click game. Compatability Settings. Change to 8-bit color mode SELECT Change Settings for ALL Users (important) then select 8 bit there to. Click Apply , run game.

- Check on Execute the application in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Me
- Check on Reduced color mode 256bit
- Check on run as administrator

im haveing the same problem tryed all the compatibillity setings and still geting the same error megavix im running wondows 8 and am useing a amd 3420apu if anyone could help that would be nice otherwise this was a waste of money :/

lol use my eyes you say ? because id works...all windows os have compatibility mode only diffrence with 8 was only the 8bitt graphics needed to be checked and not all the others as sugested .and if you had used your own eys to read the abouve comments you would have seen i was useing said compatibility mode so thank you for your usless commenet XD

I made the mistake of ordering the bundle (Syberia 1 &2 and Amerzone) the only one of the 3 I can play is the first one! Amerzone and Syberia 2 can't be played on Mac AT ALL. Mistake #2 was doing the same with Still Life series... can't play any of those either. stuck with games I can't play and lost $40 bucks in the process. Thought since one said Mac then they all were.... NOPE.

I have tried every compatability setting and run it with 256 colour and as administrator. Still get the same error msg.

plays okay on my 17" Notebook but get the error running large monitor, I only changed it to run as administrator , 640x480 & run as xps3 mode.

Try to use a lower desktop resolution. May be the application isn't able to change the resolution to a suitable one (It's from 2002 ;-). Using a colordept of 32 Bit is also possible. You may change it in the game options.
