There are playable demos for Still Life 1 & 2 out there. Google them and you should find them. The demo for 1 is not playable on Win7. The game itself is, however.

Still Life (1) has a good story and pretty good visuals, but you might be very frustrated by a 'laser room' puzzle near the end of the game. It's a timed mini-game which really doesn't belong in this type of thinking (non-timed puzzle) game. Many people just give up the game and quit playing at this point. So I wouldn't recommend spending money on it. I haven't played the 2nd game so I can't tell you if it's worth anything or not.

First one is a brilliant piece, better than all of microids games altogether. Seconds is an incomplete product. I will buy a copy of 1 on steam if they port it on linux (since i already have a retail one). But this will not happen, and microids will just stamp out half-decent buggy "thrillers" all in greenish-dark pallete. Stop, guys, make quality not quantity.

Definately worth it. It's one of the best point-clicks I've played and is quite straight forward...it just requires a lot of thinking! For three bucks you get a lot of playtime from both games depending on how well you do :P

1 is better then 2

Still life 1 is a really cool game with a superb storyline - creepy and addicting. Still life 2 is not quite as good. I must admit that I havn't played it to the end. The reason is that some puzzels are so weird that there is no way what so ever that a lunatic murderer would build so clever contraptions. It is just not convincing and I feel its a game and not a story...which obviously doesn't work for me.

I bought both in a bundle. Played 1, really enjoyed it. After beating 1, and going to 2, it was a little bit different. 2 isn't a terrible game, but I just enjoyed 1 more. I kept missing things in 2, and having to resort to hints, to figure out where to go next. If you read the notes and such, in both games, you'll figure out where to go, and hopefully have an enjoyable experience.

I grabbed the bundle while it was on sale. Love the first one so far. The first one alone is worth the money I spent to get both of them!

First one is definitely worth the money. Second one not so much in my opinion, but still worth buying them as a bundle because some people did like the second.

A Still Life forum is probably not the best place to ask this unanswerable question.
