Well it's a shame I cannot play it in Eyefinity, so i'm definitely not going to play it lower than 1920x1080.. :/

It's stuck to 1024x768, in origin where 800x600. It's an old adventure. Why playing with multymonitor if are much more the trouble than the fun?

I did not even tried to multi monitor it, it's a game released on Steam in 2006. It's just pitty it doesn't support full HD :(

It's a game re-released on Stem in 2006, but it's developed in 2003.
And by the way, does anything need to be full hd to enjoy, just open Scream.cfg, set back default values 1024x768 and set rate to 75 (or the rate your monitor work in 1024x768) or the game will flash and sometimes freeze or crash. And then just play it.

Type %APPDATA% in the search box or you can go manually:

C:\Users\<WINDOWSUSERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Nucleosys\Scratches Director's Cut\

From that directory edit the scream.cfg and change the bolder parameters:

SCRIPT SCRATCHES
PATH .\\
WIDTH 1024
HEIGHT 768
DEPTH 32
QUALITY 1
FULLSCREEN 1
SURROUND 1
LOG 0
VSYNC 0
RATE 60
SKY_DETAIL 2
AUDIO_DEVICE 0
BUFFER_SIZE 16384
NUM_BUFFERS 4

Thnx, gonna try that!

The rate it's better set to 75, but depend on his monitor. With mine at 60 all the dialogues goes at light speed and the game sometimes freeze, with 75 go flawless. Just try.

I don't get it. I have black bands at all 4 sides. I'm playing since 20 years and this is the first time i see something like this. When scaling from a different aspect ratio, you always have 2 bands, EITHER left&right OR at the top and bottom, but not both. No matter what i set in the scream.cfg file or what resolution i set in windows, the game always scales with bands at all 4 sides. Especially that the game ignores my windows resolution setting is extremely strange?! This has never failed until now. It's like forcing the game to think that i have an old computer. I'm extremely interested in this game, but i can't play it like this. I don't care much about graphic quality, but that additional frame and tiny screen is unbearable.

It's fixed to 1024x768, so any other resolutions lead in video problems. Set Scream config as alredy said and your problem will vanish.

You seem to have missed my statements that i'm "playing since 20 years"... and that this is "the first time i see something like this" Of course i know that some games - especially older ones - have a fixed resolution. Therefore you set your monitor to the resolution the game was meant for. But scratches ignores any setting. When setting the config to 1920x1080 and my monitor to 1920x1080 i have borders of 1.5 inches at the top/bottom and 3 inches at the left&right. When setting the config to 1024x768 and my monitor to 1024x768 i have borders of 1.5 inches at the top/bottom and 3 inches at the left&right. In fact i've messed around with the game a whole day because i couldnt believe that it scales always the same, no matter what i set. There should be only borders at the left and right, because the game has a different aspect ratio. I've never seen a game before that ignores my monitor resolution.

You don't have to set both game an monitor to the same resolution. And you play since 20 years, but missed that particular? Desktop resolution change automatically with the game. The black bands could be an issue of your monitor axpect ratio, how is setted? Letterbox, wide or 16:9? The game any sets you choose will always go for a Tretch, it' 1024x768 anything you set, it's 4:3, and even if you have a 16:9 or 16:10 like me, it will always stretch image to fit the monitor.
Set back you resolution and don't mess with thegame resolution, keep it 1024x768, any other won't work. And by the way, i really don't care for how long you playing, as long you don't care of how long i did i suppose. What should mean, by the way?
