Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes

Anyone else getting tremendous lag while exploring?
It seems to start bogging down to a couple fps anytime more than 2-3 people are moving at once. There doesn't seem to be anything particularly taxing about the movement animations themselves compared to idle/attack ones -- especially because I get lag while exploring regardless of the video settings, but never to a notable degree when in battle or running around solo in town, and it happens even when the characters are offscreen altogether -- so I'm wondering if there's some runaway search tree or something in the pathfinding AI.

Exactly the same here. When the bunch of heroes moving lag becomes unacceptable (sometimes drops to 2-3fps!) , but i cannot find a solutions. :(
One thing I noticed is that when it's lagging this badly, Holy's sparkle effect turns into a super-dense cloud, which disappears very quickly once everyone stops. This makes me think the sparkles spawn in realtime and fade in frametime. While not responsible for the initial drop in framerate, it may be a cascading factor that exacerbates it, and I'd advise checking other particle effects as well to optimize graphics.

It helps a bit on my machine if no browser is running in the background. But it only helps a few extra frame.
I have been having the same problem, though the whole game is generally pretty sluggish I find, but the more characters I have collected the worse the movement gets. I have just picked up solithaire and the game has become virtually unplayable. I thought it might be graphics related because I am only using a laptop with Intel HD3000, but even with all the settings turned right down and the resolution very low the same problem occurs. The graphics for the game aren't even that good, you wouldn't think they put that much strain on the system.

This machine has a core i7 and 6gb of RAM, should be plenty, but it seems not to be. A bit of googling has turned up other people with the same problem (not just steam users) but no solution. Buggy or just bad code? Either way I'm close to giving up with this game
laggy as hell on triple core AMD cpu + Radeon HD4850
Same problem. No way my system shouldn't handle this game and it only seems to be in "explore" mode. Was enjoying the game till I got 5 party members, now it is pretty much unplayable. Is there still no solution?
I'm guessing it's a rogue pathfinding search tree or something that freaks out with the Three Stooges Effect (lots of characters navigating the same space without prioritizing).
made it to the cave and now i have insane lag
Mine is pretty laggy, which surprises me, since my machine can run Skyrim on just about max settings. Fun game, but the lag is lame. Good thing it is turn based combat, yeah?
Its not the combat thats the problem, game runs fine then. I only get the lag when it says "explore", gets worse worse every time you pick-up a new party member. Shame because its my sort of game and I was enjoying it. Can't see the dev's patching now unfortunately, was hoping some tech savvy person on here could solve the problem. Least I got it on a sale, so no great loss, would have been really pissed if I'd paid the full price.
