xt-23 MISSION TO RESCUE TERNIE (possible spoiler)

I have read in some older posts on other forums that if you disable the courier (the ship that breaks off from the first group that attacks you when you arrive) that your base ship engines will not get disable. Has anyone managed to get that to work?

If not do the patrols eventually thin out?

Yea thats what I figured. I restarted so I could do more farming earlier in the game.

your ship falls apart depending on what playthrough you decide to do (it still falls apart no matter what), otherwise, your mothership dies at this system no matter what, however something good comes from all of this, otherwise for the time being you need to make sure to have your fighters equipped and ready, as for the ship falling part, if you manage to destroy the courier, DO not engage any other hostile patrols at all, once you engage a 2nd patrol the ships engines go into critical then mothership is stuck(dont even stay still too long, in fact it would be best to just rush to the site immediately with your mothership and fighters), i was able to get my ship all the way to the destination and after dealing with the enemy walrus's(kill them quickly or your mothership is toast they have high caliber guns[kills your mothership really quick]) (some playthroughs i noticed they attack and other campaign playthroughs they remain neutral or arent there but elsewhere) was able to then get the next objective. im on this mission but when i started it the first time i failed now when i do the mission it dosent show up the objective in the mission objective list

do you mean you entered the sector and it just didnt work? or am I missing something that your saying?
