Bugged..?
In the mission to get to Elio in the Pirate Mothership and after I make it to the nebula nowhere near the installation inside that blast you to smitherenes..lol..I keep getting a cutscene with " so trying to take other people's property" paraphrased and I blow up...
Doesn't matter which direction away from the marked interference marker it happens..and this is on easy setting to get the feel of the game...if this is standard then it to the recycle bin for this game.

Any advice here?
WTF? now the 10+ smuggler type fighters show up right out of the jump gate and blow me up...no chance of escaping or even fighting...just goes to cut scene and it's over.
Can someone help or did I just waste 5 bucks?

do any of the former devs even vist these forums?
yea you gotta go grind pirates and such to get more cash and pilots for your fighters and a real mothership. this game loves to put you in unwinable fights if you havent farmed any.

I can't even seem to get past the part where you take the pirate mothership to get the ID cleaned....any secrets there?
before you go into elio youll get a chance to save a trader from pirates at the portal save him that is the handers guy son
then youll have to kill the pirate guy but it is much easier with the convoy soaking up some of the dmg
make sure to quick save often and save regularly often as well the game throws curve balls all freakin day
make several regular saves at different intervals so if you need to farm for a particularly hard fight you can go back and do it.or if you screw the pooch on something that needed to be done but you over looked it
Hard game no hand holding i like it =)

I can't even get much away from exiting the gate before I'm jumped by 3 MSF fighers. I try to make it to the nebula by heading to the marker in the nebula but about 15 seconds after I see the message that they are sending the sniffers I get the cutscene from some obvious pirate types that blow me up...no evading, no fighting just go boom.....poor mission design if you ask me..ridiculously hard even on easy?
ahh as soon as you come out of the gate plot your destination and hit it into 4x speed or 8x if you can. Once you get to the cloud with the pirate turrets choose to lure some msf to them,sit and wait till trenie says move then bolt to her checkpoints.which will lead you to the portal where you need to save the trader.Save him go through the portal escort him to the pirate boss which youll need to kill, then escort the trader to his mine and your done. Ohhh yea dont forget to use the pause liberaly.

I got stuck too, with the red-painted pirate ship.
Trick was to let the plot "rail-road" you to your goal.

If you choose, as I did, too "loose the police/msf?/military/ in the nebula, you come to a way point. Go towards that waypoint and nothing else. Keep following the waypoints until you are in the clear. Go left or right off the mark and you get blown.

That should work!
Is there a way to mine the numerous asteroids that litter each sector for sellable resources?

Is there a sector in the starting areas that is good for farming pirates?
Pretty much any neutral space will have lots of pirates.The closest one to the starting area would be debri 1 and 2 just look for the white dots on the map those are neutral zones.
Most of triada space which are the red dots on the map have tons of pirates as well.
ok..I forgot to ask about all the dang escape pods that are accumulating in my cargo hold.
I there a way to clear them out because I have a cubic buttload of them now? And where can I hare more pilots for my fighters? Thanks for all your help to this point.
The patrol stations are where you wana turn in the pods any patrol station will do really.I got all my pilots from running missions you either save them or they volunteer not sure if there are ones you can hire atleast i havent found any hireable pilots except the mercs you can hire out of the trade stations.
OK..fed up. I'm at the point where right out of the jumpgate in the New Jerusalem 3 system and no matter which dorection I head I get jumped by MSF and then shortly after that a cutscene of mothership blowing up....sheesh
I noticed a cheat code to enter god mode after enabling console with debugmode=1 and then hitting shift ~ but the stated code "I" doesnt seem to work.
