Fan expectations about Ashes of Victory.
Greetings all fan of Star Wolves series.
I know very well that this series has great fans as greats enemys. This game has huge potential but was used not in 100% by developers, like line story that blow-up ship when you try go somewhere else, few bigger and minor bugs, but still this game is GREAT AND AWESOME. This is very space climate and innovate game that i play loooong hours and days.
I also experienced some bugs and story line restriction, but i overcome this and take enjoy from game, i complete few endings. Sincerly i look forward Ashes of Victory more than Diablo 3.

I waited for Ashes of Victory from 2010 when was annouced, but sadly game is not development anymore, but still have hope. If fans will demand about release game. if developers decide to make game like kickstaret do with help of fans, i am in.
Realasing alfa and beta version of game for fans from whole world, not only in russia, to play and find any mistakes and bugs to help game become better. This series have great potential that is shame to waste.
I ready to support any action make by fans for this game, if you have same feeling, please write you thought about it.

It is not Kickstarter stuff, they are russians, and most russian companies are not know for their hard work, they got low budget, but the way they do things and think about it are different, even if they did wanted to do it, they would need some huge adversment, thing that other american companies are in control.

Sorry, op, that just won't happen. The thing is, Civil War wasn't developed by developer company - it was made by the group of talented modders who made a great addition to the original Star Wolves and thus were noticed by the publisher. And they did all that with minimal budget, btw - publisher promised them some technical help, the cut from the sales & pretty much it. So that's why Ashes got frozen - the team got tired of working without salaries & decided to halt the development to force the publisher to shell out some cash, but the publisher just said screw it and let them abandon the entire thing.

And point is - since they're not professional developers and such, they've just abandoned this whole thing and returned to their normal lifes, jobs and so on. Especially since many of them were really burnt by the whole ordeal (developer screwed them HARD). So there isn't really a team to kickstart SW4, unfortunately.

Civil War was modders creation? I really don't know this, they make a good game :)
Maybe if that modders will gather again, open their site about project for voluntary donations by fans then still will be hope fo Ashes of Victory. I still can not reconcile with fact that AoV was buried before he saw daylight. I can donate every serious project of developing AoV.
I am sure that if modders and fan interest and initative will be big, and all will be good advertised, then some publishers and even devs can see chance of potential profit and help modders.
As you mentioned in you website Star Wolves are great game with huge potential that was used not properly, because devs and publisher limit game for mostly east market. But with good adversive campaign, greater concentrate about western market and with good english localization (and more work about fix bugs) i bet that game will have great popularity as innovation space rts, rpg.

If those who make SW CW, go to kickstarter i donate and most fans to. We can only hope that they start SW 4 or make they own game.

I'm a little late to the table here, but I'd love to see another game like this in development by any dev team! Doesn't have to follow the SW universe, something using similar mechanics. 3 axis sandbox, space combat, motherships, fighters, experienced based crew upgrades... SW did have a lot of potential.

I'm UK based and enjoyed the charm of the Star Wolves franchise, it was a bit rough around the edges but it satisified most of those things.

I'll keep hoping...
