Windows 8
I can't seem to get SF4 working under Windows 8. It seems to have something to do with Games for Windows Live? I have it installed but it doesn't seem to be working at all.

I get the following error message :
An unhandled error occurred. (-1)

Anyone else out there have this problem/know a fix?

At least I know I'm not alone!

Yeah I have the .NET framework 3.5 installed, I also installed the MS C++ 2010 redist package. Nothing seems to have worked.

MAYBE HAVE TO WHAT TILL WIN 8 IS RELEASE

I don't think it's got anything to do with the release of Windows 8. In fact, Windows 8 is already released, just not publicly/generally available. It is Capcom's responsability here to step up and patch their game for the latest PC OS. Knowing Capcom, it probably won't happen for a while :( :( :( After all, who cares about the PC gamers...

Does Capcom have any official "page"/"channel"/"forum" in Steam? Folks, I don't think it's related to .NET 3.5 I think it's related to Games For Windows Live. But again, I'm no expert.

Also, I tried the things people mention when they experienced this problem in Windows 7. Nothing worked. This game needs a patch.

Guys, i had the same issue and i did something that solved it. It indeed seems to be related to Games For Windows Live. I uninstalled the GFWL installed on my system, them i installed the latest version of Windows Live Essentials (not sure that it makes any difference), them i installed the latest version of Games For Windows Live Client through http://www.xbox.com, and that did it. Hope it helps.

Ok got it working.

Here's what I did:

Uninstall GFWL Client
Uninstall SF4
Uninstall Steam (Removed the Steam folder as well)
Install GFWL Client from: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
Install Steam
Install SF4
Profit.

I'm not sure if all of that is really necessary, but it worked for me! SF4 works and runs fine.

Thanks guys. You do not need to uninstall Steam or SF. All I did was: Uninstall GFWL client. Go to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient to download/install client. And that's it!
