Why not make an official Mortal Kombat Vs. Street Fighter game?
That would be awesome as ♥♥♥♥

Seriously, why not?

IMHO, Tekken was the better choice. My guess is that since MK isn't an asian fighting game like Street Fighter or Tekken, it wouldn't be well accepted. That and adding a block button would potentially ♥♥♥♥ off alot of SF fans. I'd be one of them.

MK doesn't sell well in Asian Market. Also no1. most played fighting game in Asia is Tekken. Both huge in Korea and Japan.

I see.. But at least here in Americas and Europe that should sell a lot

Never Played a Teken game, I grew up with MK and SF

I know Tekken should be an awesome game, but I don't know any of the characters, so it doens't make much sence buying the game and trying out

The styles of both games don't go well together. I don't think you'd ever see Ryu rip Ken's spine out.

I like this video a lot about that subject, the first minutes may be boring but overall it's a pretty good video

Because Mortal Kombat is cool to literal 14 year olds, and the game engine is really bad.

Ed Boon has already made mention of this, saying it was "Inevitable". How they go about it though is anyones guess.

The only Japanese IP crossover with an American IP in fighting games that I am aware of is the Capcom X Marvel series, and that one has been running for about 20 years.

Because Yoshinori Ono said this : "Having Chun Li getting her spine ripped out, or Ryu's head bouncing off the floor ... it doesn't necessarily match."

That part doesn't really matter. DC wouldn't go for it either, there are no moves like that in MK vs DC, so they made the crossover anyway.

MK's kind of semi-realistic violence isn't in the same wavelength as SF's overly fantastic, sometimes comedic violence. They don't work together.

I have the mk trilogy book, one of the creators did say it's not possible due to different fighting game engines

that kind of contrast could be interesting. they of course need to bring the art style together but that would be not such a big problem. each franchise get "ripped" of after some time so just wait for it it will come for sure in the next 10-30 years :)

first of all, they are 2 totally different games. and both born from two different markets too. having capcom vs snk is already almost crossing borderline. although for some reason marvel vs capcom (marvel super heroes) is somewhat encouraging regardless from different background.

secondly, dhalsim will be unkilleable
rip arm off, extend arms
rip spine off, extend neck
beheading uppercut, extend neck
johnny cage's fatality, extend torso
scorpion's fatality, already immune to fire
