Only one Hitbox controller works at a time
I have two Hitbox controllers (hitboxarcade.com (the PS3/PC version)), yet when I have both plugged into my PC and boot up Street Fighter, only one is recognized. Sometimes, if I go to button config, it will show two, but I can't use one of the controllers. Only one will work.

I've gone to the device manager and it confirms that only one of them are installing the drivers correctly. The other will say "Unknown Device". If I uninstall it and then scan for hardware changes, it will simply try to reinstall. Then it will tell me it failed.

Nothing seems to fix it. I have gotten it to install correctly before, where in "Human Interface Devices", two "HID-compliant game controller"'s showed up, but even then, only one Hitbox controller would work while I was in Street Fighter.

Any ideas?

Also, when I click properties on the "Unknown Device" (that's the second Hitbox), it shows an error code 43. Not sure if that helps, but yeah...

Need more tests. Does one hitbox not work everytime? How about the one that works, does that work everytime even if you uninstalled it? Can you plug in one at a time and would they work that way? The only conclusion I can give you is that one of them would be faulty. Don't forget to set both hitboxes up on the button config, as they don't have anything set to them just yet. I had a friend that brought his hitbox and my custom hitbox, and the first thing i noticed when we booted up the game, his wouldnt work, but that's just because he hasnt set it up on the button config yet, otherwise it was all good.

Neither of them are faulty. I've tried using either individually and they work. They also both work together on the PS3, and I had it working on the PC once or twice.

I set the button config when I needed to, but now the one controller just doesn't work while I'm on Street Fighter. There's always one that just doesn't seem to do anything, while the other works fine.

Interesting dilemma. I think you may be the first among us to have bought TWO hitbox controllers AND using them for SSFIV: AE for the PC. I'm sorry I have nothing useful to contribute, but do try to reproduce your results if possible.

So my PC is about 25 feet from the TV. I have my GPU split into an HDMI splitter, one going to my monitor, the other to the TV. Then I have two USB extension cords that reach right past the TV. I plug the Hitbox controllers into the USB extension cords. Either controller will work, but not both at the same time (in Steam Big Picture & Street Fighter).

Sometimes, when I go to button config, it will show both Hitbox Controller's seperate layouts. This won't always happen, and even when it does, only one still works.

Help?

After trying a few times and even getting device manager to show that it correctly installed both drivers. I went into Street Fighter,it showed both Hitbox controllers in the button config but still only one works at a time.

I already tried testing just one controller on both USB extension cords, and it worked fine on both. I switched controllers and it worked fine. The problem is just when both are plugged in.

It just doesn't seem to want to work. Any suggestions?

Do you happen to use usb hubs? Connect both of them directly to the computer if you are.

You can try using Joy2Key and map the buttons of one controller to the keys used for keyboard.

They are just USB extension cords plugged in directly. No USB hubs, and no need for them with 12 USB ports on my PC.

I'll try that.

Try contacting the creators of HitBox and check with them if this registering multiple controllers is a known issue.

Alright, sent a little email.

It doesn't seem to be working. I've watched a few tutorials, and setup the keys to what the "Keyboard 2" default setup is ingame. It does nothing on the Hitbox that is already not working, but if I set the Hitbox that is working to "Joystick 1" (the one I have the "Keyboard 2" setup on) then it works like a keyboard.

TLDR: Joy2Key only works on the Hitbox that is already working and it feels like it's not Street Fighters fault, but I don't know.

You know this might be ridiculous to say, but I'm pretty sure you're missing something very simple. If you plug in both, and both are recognized, then everything should be fine (like you said, the game recognizes both on the button config). But the real problem comes when you go to versus correct? Can you tell us word for word what happens that you conclude the 2nd hitbox doesn't work? And when you say only one is working, is it only this one specific hitbox that works, or either of them works and the other just shuts down?

Remove every simple possiblity if you can. Have you set up both controllers' buttons on button config? They're usually set to "NONE", noteably the 2nd hitbox you plug in.

1: Both controllers work seperate eachother, on either USB extension cord (tested this).

2: When both are plugged in and I load Street Fighter -> Button config, it shows "Keyboard 1"/"Keyboard 2"/"Hitbox Cthulu+ Edition"/"Hitbox Cthulu+ Edition" (or something like that name). I have set the controls on both.

3: It's not just when I go to versus, even in the menu only one will work. The other does nothing when I press any button. If I go to versus and do player versus player, then I can only hit LK/Start for one of the controllers. The other won't let me do anything.

3.1: Whenever I'm playing Street Fighter, I use Big Picture. As I said before, only one controller will work, including in the Big Picture menus. I can't use either to browse the menus.

Anyways, the Hitbox team haven't responded to my email. Maybe I didn't get the right email, but I'm not even sure because you have to have a downloaded email program to view the contact list and I use gmail :l

man I feel so sorry for you oO I'm trying to figure out something that might help, but I feel like you already did everything to solve this issue yourself. what OS are you using anyway? I'm guessing win 7, right? you might wanna try reinstalling the drivers in windows and check properties of the sticks for anything that might look suspicious...good luck man!
