Any point in buying "vanilla" Street Fighter IV?
I've been playing Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition and love it but is there any reason for getting the first one? Are achievements the same etc.? Is there anything I'm really missing by just playing AE?

No reason to waste money in the vanilla Street fighter 4, in my opinion .
The championship mode is dead and the few times i try to play it most of the time get people with bad connections. Vanilla street fighter 4 is almost dead

Vanilla surprisingly has some players in it still, either a complete noob or an average player (good players). It's good to get a match quicker 1v1, usually you'll be able to, and I find the connections there actually better sometimes. AE has more laggy matches imo, but that's just because there's that much more people. I'm a 1v1 kind of guy, so if I can't find anybody on AE for a quick match, I go straight to vanilla, and it's guaranteed no matter what.

None at all, SSF4AE is basically vanilla upgraded.

Well if you want to see, why Sagat or Seth were overpowered in this game, then there you go.
There was some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ back then.

I picked up SFIV at Best Buy for $7 and it was good but by far SSFIV:AE is better. Better menus and tons more characters plus balancing, so yeah get SSFIV:AE.
