Disconnecting half the time.
Hey I seem to be having an issue with constant disconnects. Is this people ragequitting or could it be something else? I doubt its my connection as its pretty solid for everything else.

All my ports are forwarded and i have done an uninstall/reinstall and have made sure nothing is tampering with the connection.

I don't DC in any other modes other than ranked game, and when it looks for matches while you are playing arcade mode.

Even when my opponent is winning it seems to happen so I doubt its purposefully happening.

Anyone have this issue? and possibly know a fix for it?

Still no word from either company (although its the holidays so I expect they are low on staff and working hard on many other peoples issues).

and an update, I noticed when its ragequitters it tells me "the player left the game" or some♥♥♥♥♥♥like that. But when I get these odd DC it says that the "connection to the opponent was lost."

My ports are forwarded, I am not losing connection to Steam or GFWL just the matches. My connection does not fluctuate when connection is lost. I have a large feeling it is not me but literately half my matches end in disconnections, usually around the start of round 2, and even when I lost round 1.

Its driving me a bit nuts trying to figure this out. Nothing about it online or anywhere on the Steam boards (unless were talking people ♥♥♥♥♥ing about rage quitters).

Another thing to note is my disconnection score remains at 0% so the game isnt counting me as the one ditching (which is a VERY good thing lol)

If anyone had this issue and fixed it PLEASE let me know!! Maybe I am missing a port or something?

My ports forwarded for SSFIV are:

TCP port 80.
UDP and TCP port 3074.
UDP port 88
UDP and TCP port 53
TCP port 443

The issue seemed to have fixed itself....? Odd, but I am not complaining.

most of the time when you get "Lost connection to opponent", it's because the game is out of sync. notice that your opponents seem to behave odd (punching the air,not blocking any of your attacks etc.), some connections seem to have the problem that they get out of sync easily for some reason. I have the same issue against a specific friend of mine...at least 30% of our matches end up being out of sync and eventually terminated by the game with the message "Lost connection to opponent".

we'd love to know how to fix this, but I guess it's a problem with SFIV and NOT with our connection.

anyways, glad to hear you somehow managed to fix this.

It has come back after a round two, but not nearly as frequently. Gonna reopen my tickets and such with Microsoft and Capcom. And from what I have noticed it is definitely only against some people, as in i notice it more with some, and it never seems to happen with others.

I don't seem to ever have an issue in tournament, or in endless battle modes either.

I guess if its not effecting my score, its not the end of the world. Issue is I get messages telling me to stop trolling when I really am not!

Luckily it seems to have calmed down from half my matches to like 1/15. Still tho driving me nuts.

How did you manage to solve the problem? I have the same freaking problem. It's very frustrating. I have no or little lag but It always (not 50% of times, ALWAYS) says "lost connection to opponent". Most of the time at the end of second round.
