i know i hate the old DMC fixed camera. its not a problem when fighting but during certain puzzle sequences it can be pain.
I like the old castlevania goth setting. but i loved the reboot surreal setting.
i liked the old Dante's sense of humor and attitude and look much better.
but i like the new DMC combat mechanics better.
Can't we merge the best attributes of both old and new into DMC6?
-Make their own versions of the dmc-characters that really didn't have that much of a backstory(Arius,Argosax)
-Make the secret missions more like the ones in dmc 1, 4 and 4. The ones in the reboot remind me of the 2nd games missions.
-Give him a a devil trigger that actually turns him into a devilish looking state and doens't give you too much power(demon evade+devil trigger=op as hell)
Tbh, I haven't played anything but 1, but I do own both 3 and 4 and will definitely play 2. However, based on what I knw, I found the new iteration to be absolutely fantastic. The story was entertaining, finding a balance between simple and interesting plot devices. The characters were believable (which I feel, in my opinion, was a plus versus the old games) Don't get me wrong, Dante was over-the-top in the old games, which, was entirely his thing and badass, but I found myself more engaged with the development of Dante in this game and the brother dynamic that slowly stirred and changed over time with Vergil. Mundus left a little to be desired, kind of acting like a 90's Saturday morning cartoon villain who worked behind the scenes, talking smack, and sending lackeys to do the work. I get that he was the leader of the organization and therefore, probably prefers to never get his hands dirty. However, I feel that he should've somehow been more involved in the story and had at least a more intimidating presence, antagonizing Dante throughout Limbo.
All in all, a delightful time filled with plenty of fast, fun, and frantic demon killing.
