Given that there is a special edition coming...
It's not like Capcom hasn't been messing with the code in this. Capcom, could you PLEASE update this for Cards and Achievements? We all know the cards can be stock imagery, most AAA do that. It's not even like you have to come up with achievements, there are in game achievs.
Most likely SE will come with Steam Achievements and cards because why not, right, but that doesn't mean you should just not look to people that already paid for the game, right? After all, you're still milking it 7 years later.

Why do people want cards so badly? Serious question, not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥. I just sell mine for however many cents they are worth.

Short answer? People like collectibles. It somehow adds a little value to the game, and it is the main way to level up on steam. It's mainly bragging rights, pretty much like achievements.
