Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

GameRanger "failed to find steam"
I get this error when I attempt to launch immortal throne through game ranger. The original Titan Quest works fine and immortal throne works if I launch from steam. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it.
Thanks

There was a thread on here regarding that, you have to copy a file to the directory.. cant remember which file but i do remember seeing mention of that same issue.

you'll have to search for the thread

I found that and it didn't work for me, however I have found a way to fix the issue since by going into Computer > Properties > Advanced Settings > Environment Variables and adding ";C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" to the end of the variable value for PATH . If someone needs a more detailed explanation, ask.

Boombask,

I tried your solution and it didn't work for me. I'm at a loss as to what to do. i don't want to delete my local content (and my fanpatch 1.17a) and go to a vanilla install as I will lose all of my progress. Any suggestions

I'm fairly sure that the GameRanger still works with the fan patch so that shouldn't be the problem. If you copied and pasted my solution, check where your version of steam is installed to as it may be different and you would need to adjust it to match. Otherwise I really dont know. A guy on this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2629625) copied his steam.dll folder so that may work. The problem with pc games is that there are always dozens of problems that can result in the same error. If you keep searching different forums you may find a solution that works, but if not, there is probably a way to back up your save file.

Awesome, I had the same exact problem and I copied the steam.dll file from the STEAM folder that Titan Quest resides in to the TITAN QUEST folder. Thanks for the fix!!! LONG LIVE TITAN QUEST

Copied the steam.dll to the TQIT folder and it's working fine, thanks!

(Before that, when I tried to copy the .dll to BOTH Titan Quest and the expansion, I got an "the game stopped working error". It only works for me when I copy only to the Immortal Throne folder!)
