IN-VALID CD key (single player fixed) (\multiplayer fixed)
Hello guys, I would just like you all to know that everyone having this problem should submit a ticket to steam, THQ And the humble bundle support if that's where you bought it from... I also highly recommend looking through the titan quest forums.

http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/45443-Humble-bundle-CD-KEY-NO-VALID

^ I have made a post and for people who would like to sign up on the forum and bump it up so it gets some more attention that would be great.. I am personally working very hard on trying to fix this problem and will hopefully come out with a fix for everyone with this problem.

FIX FOR SINGLEPLAYER : Go into reg edit and press ctrl+f And type in IRON LORE, after that in the navigation panel go into the Titan quest folder and in there you should see a registry called Cd key or something along the line of that, Delete it and then verify your game files and start the game, This should fix it (This has been tested on windows 7 64 bit and windows 8 64 bit, How ever this hasn't worked for everyone)

For what it's worth, single player worked for me just fine (using THQ Humble Bundle version). It might be because I am on XP, and not 7.

At any rate, this fix will do nothing to solve the invalid CD Key issue plaguing the multiplayer, and probably unnecessary to do at all if your single player is working fine.

Thanks for sharing what you found out though for those affected.

I have the same problem. None of the games in the THQ Humble Bundle runs without issues.

so i dunno how much help this will be but i had some intersitng issues.

if i start the game, and trying to host on the net i get invailid cd key, if i then try to host lan the game closes.

if, however, i run lan first, it works fine, if i exit back to the menu, then try to host on internet it kicks me back to the main page with now messege and no menu.

just figured i would add my thoughts, see if others have this problem, and if it helps track the cd key thing down.

EDIT: if i try to host on internet twice in a row it crashes too.

Have the same problem guys. Single player is working well. Joining or hosting multiplayer game = invalid cd key. When I want to host lan game, TQ is crashing :(

Single player runs fine but Multiplayer doesn't, as well. It's getting really frustrating. I've finally got the legit version and now it's not working.

pretty sure 95% of the people are having the same issue of it being multiplayer. That's what needs to get fixed. :(

I've got the same issue as well and I got the game from HumbleBundle. Single player and LAN works fine ONLY if you did not try hosting an online game. for what ever reason, if you tried to host an online game and then do anthing else after (eg. play single player) the game will crash. I've already tried verifying the GCF and it would always be successful. I've even tried deleting local data and redownloading the game but the same thing happens. After reading a bunch of other old forums (mainlt the one here: http://www.gametap.com/forum/titan-quest-invalid-cd-key-t37093-25.html ) I believe there's nothing we can do on our end it it's something Steam has to fix on their end.
