Land Your Airport Requests Here!
Let's help this game really take off. The dev may like to taxi this one to the top.. OK, enough puns.

So if you were observant enough on the Store Page, you may have seen that the developer is looking for airport suggestions to come to AM3D.

My advisory for those who may not know where to start with the huge and redicilous list of tarmac available out there is to head to the SkyTrax World Airport Awards[www.worldairportawards.com] website and look at the top 100 list. Yes this list is more about the terminals, its facilities and customer satisfaction, but hear me out here.

From this list, head to good old Google Maps and search some of these great airports out... Look at the Terminal layout, the runways, how many intersect or have a style you think would be fun to play with in Airport Madness 3D... and then suggest away!

Also helpful would be a screenshot or overhead image, and a good explanation to why you think your chosen airport(s) should be in the game. Living near it, or having just visited it isn't a good enough reason. Let's find out why you want to control traffic at that airport and what you think it could bring to the game overall.

Also try to avoid single runway and dual parallel runway airports. We already have Sangster International Airport in Jamaica with the single runway, and nothing can possibly compete with the world's busiest dual runway airport. The undisputed king.. London Heathrow!

Also, bonus Internet points will be rewarded for airports, airstrips, or even military airbases with interesting layouts not in the list and could be seen as terrific additions..

Example: RAF Lynham[www.google.co.uk] - One of the airstrips held very close to the hearts of the UK. This airfield was where hundreds of British service personell who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan were repatriated into the country, with the local town of Lyneham falling silent along it's main street as the fallen passed by in hearses.

With our help, let's make this the best Airport Madness Game ever!

I'll add Frankfurt and Istanbul, requested by someone yesterday. I personally prefer airports with crossing runways, but variety is always a good thing. I'd love to find a busy commercial airport in the mountains - any ideas?

As an Italian players, I have to sponsor the biggest airport of Italy, Rome - Fiumicino.

Actually, as you can see in the screenshot, there are three non crossing runways, but, maybe, you could design the horizontal East-West black runway, in the middle, crossing the two North-South side runways.

Anyway, it's only a suggestion.

Dev, about your mountain airport idea, ever thought about some airports on the Andes mountain, if they ever exists? And on the Himalaya?

Great suggestions, thank you!

# 58 on the list - DFW - Dallas/Fort Worth - (American Airlines HQ)

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Dallas%2FFort+Worth+International+Airport/@32.8948028,-97.053456,5369m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x73323f5e067d201c!8m2!3d32.8998091!4d-97.0403352

4, potenitally 6 I guess N/S runways - 2 on the East side of the Airport and 2 on the West. Additionally, on each side of DFW there is 1 additional runnway that can handle traffic to and from the NW (left side) and the other can handle, if im not mistaken, traffic to and from the SE.

I'll add all of this to the growing list!

(Gee... do you think people want more airports?)

This one is an absolute cracker! I'm counting 7 runways... Imagine having to deal with that lot in heavy traffic in this game!

Can we have a hardcore mode where Fort Worth is one of the really crazy airports with all 7 runways active? For standard play just have any random 3 or 4?

EDIT

OK, I have just come up with a cracking idea to make Airport Madness 3D more interesting, and this would be a first for the franchise. Instead of having an intersecting runway where you have to prevent the collision of other air traffic... How about other ground traffic intersecting the runway instead?

I see 2 possible airports that immediately come to mind where this would apply.

Gibraltar International Airport - This is great for the road that intersects the runway. The ATC tower has to signal closure of the road via barriers for an incoming, or outgoing plane to use the runway.

Example image of intersection: http://tsubotch.cocolog-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2011/08/26/gib001.jpg

Gisborne Airport, New Zealand - This is a really good double edged sword and probably one you can make work. This airport not only sports a single runway where aircraft have to double back along the runway to get to the terminal. It also has a trainline running straight through the runway too! Both of these are in use at exactly the same time on a regular basis. So timing landings to avoid trains which intersect the runway is a common practice for ATC.

To build on your idea , and if it can be done, and if people wanted it, you could make this a 2 player game. You have one player handling air traffic, and another handling the ground traffic. Players would have to hand off traffic back and forth. Perhaps some co-op scoring?

I should say that I have NEVER played this game before but it is on my wishlist. I stumbled across it yesterday somehow while blowing money on Pinball FX2 tables. I watched the video and did some reading and as soon as I get the money, I WILL be buying it. So, please take my comments as is, from someone who has not even launched the game :) :) :)
