Watch my recent talk on Airport Madness
The good folks at Vancouver Full Indie were kind enough to have me speak at their July meet-up about my game development experiences. I gave my little talk, and they recorded it. Please enjoy my sultry voice, questionable game design principles, and repeated use of the word “um”.

Or not. The talk is 12 minutes long. You could probably more enjoyably spend your time doing, say, ANYTHING ELSE.

Very nice to put a face and name with the game, and see a little behind the scenes about what you have done and how. Thank you!

That was mostly to be funny. Of course I listen to suggestions. There was a point that I was trying to make, however. I used to implement EVERYTHING suggested, and I felt run off my feet by it. Now I consider all suggestions, and implement that which I feel is a good fit for the game.

Fun presentation, watched the entire thing. Helped understand the person behind the game as well!

Thanks for watching. It's the first time I've "come out".

Enjoyed your video and as above it is nice to meet the person behind the game. You are on one incredible journey and I wish you every success for the future and hopefully see more Aorport madness game.

I totally get the ignore suggestions. I assume you read most of them and the really good ones get put on that main list but that list only gets tackled when you are happy with your OWN suggestions and ideas in your head. I appreciate what you have created and enjoy it for what it is worth. Thanks for the video.. very cool to watch and has inspired me to learn Unity.

Yeah, the part about "ignore suggestions" was really just to generate laughter in a room of game developers. I didn't think the comment would come up in discussion :) The reality is, I read every comment here, as well as every email I receive. Every idea gets added to a huge list (which looks like Santa's list, but twice as long). There's no way that I'll be able to implement every idea. However, sometimes I'll get an idea from someone, such as animating the windsock, and I'll think, "Hmmm, I bet I can code that up in about 5 minutes!". Four hours later, I've implemented someone's great suggestion. Other ideas will simply never happen, such as "Dude, you should totally add zombies". Nevertheless, they get added to the list.

Hm, well, throwing in a crazy about random(but not common) emergency landings? Should toss things up a bit as it'd change who's going to land first. :P

There's also weather perhaps, icing, heavy rain....perhaps you could even add military aircraft but that one's a stretch. If I had to choose one, I think the emergency implementation would be a nice fit to the current system, not much work among the others.

Added to the list! Lol!

WOW, I thought I was the only one in the world that played TRACON. I still have the box with 5.25 floppy disks somewhere. :)

I used to play that game all the time.

I haven't played it in many years, but it was magical! In ATC school my colleagues and I would all crowd around a single 13" CRT tube display and push each other to see who could move the most traffic. This was back (way back) in the early 90's.

Well their is a online browser of ATC sim that is similar to Tracon.

I've tried that one. I really miss the original. I think the developers could do well if they created a Steam or mobile version of it. There are a few knock-offs out there, but not as enjoyable.
