Co-op gameplay?
A feature to play with friends would be very nice. I know it would take a 747-load of work, but this would be really fun and I'd like to see it taken into account.

Discussions are already underway about a multiplay option. It will take time but I know the developer is working on it. I'm chomping at the bit too.
Lovely to hear, I have a friend who would likely want to play this game together with me.

It's something I definitely want to do. There are many ways to do this, but I'd like to hear how you would like to see the co-op game structured. What would each player's responsibility be? I'm considering adding the ability to monitor a friend's stats in real-time (stress level, planes moved, score, etc.
That would be nice. Maybe a mode where friends can control specific parts of the tower, for example the host on tower / departure and a friend on approach / ground.
What about each player getting their own airport, but you send planes back and forth between them? Something like the old Theme Hospital MP game with its mechanic of shuffling patients, garbage bombs, and vomit waves.
That's actually a very cool idea. Maybe even the option to divert an aircraft to a friend's airport, should yours be overcrowded.

I'm thinking something more along the lines of tower/ground responsibilities. This would only be fun at a complex airport like LaGuardia or San Francisco - where a good ground controller is essential.

Yup, co-op on just one airport IMHO.

Assigning arrival/departing runways in such a game should also be an option.
Indeed.

I recommend each player do a separate responsibility - tower, ground, approach, departure. In such case where approach and departure are occupied, allow aircraft to collide.
