GRID 2 vs NFS Shift 2 Unleashed
Just wondering what are people's opinions when comparing these two games? First impressions of GRID 2 are I'm not sure yet if the handling of the cars is as nice as Shift 2. What do you think?

As a simulation there is no comparison, Shift 2 is miles ahead of this game. Honestly, this game and Shift 2 have nothing in common. Grid 2 is more comparable to say NFS: Hot Pursuit. Not to say Grid 2 isn't fun ( it is ), but it is not a sim at all, in any way.

is this game out yet?

Shift 2 isn't a particularly good "sim" either.
E.g. the drifting in Shift 2 is a joke, it's impossible with a wheel and with a controller the game is very eager to assist you. There is no fuel, tyre wear is replaced with "temperature" which has its own weird quirks (since when does a hot tyre have less grip than a cold one?)

It's common knowledge that Grid is an arcade racer so apples and oranges, just sayin...

the fact that you are trying to compare 2 different game's may be the issue here

On rails racer.... I agree they are both arcade racers but Grid 2 for me is more arcade than I expected.... Disappointed at lack of in car (due to CONSOLE memory limitations), and the incessant spam of how many fans you have, obsession with social media... If I wanted NFS I'd play it. Codies havent made a decent driving game since Dirt 2 IMO... While it was arcadey it gave enough sense of feedback to be great with a good wheel.

Its a complete screw up. Hot tires have better grip on the roads, which is why drag racers always heat up their tires before launching.

The reason I compared the two games is because I've also played GRID 1 and that to me was a sort of arcade-simulation hybrid just like Shift 2 is for me. I thought GRID 2 would be the same sort of thing but GRID 2 feels far too arcadey to me. I've also had experience with DiRT 2 and 3 (games I really like) so playing GRID 2 really feels too unrealistic.

Hated the input lag in shift 2, it was not fixed by the time I stopped playing it, there was no excuse for its poor response. Its probably a decent enough game now, if fixed, but I have no desire to get another copy of it on steam to try.

Actually, you are not comparing two entirely different games, just call grid 2 by its true name, drift 2, and everything will make a lot more sense.
