glad it was only 8 bucks
I get to my second racing series and it tells me in order to use on e of the cars i have to buy it off the live marketplace. talk about a rip off. worse business model than EA. if GRID 2 (which im interested in) has this same model, I won't get it. I mean, I'm on my first rally circuit series and get hit with that garbage. come on.

Bla bla bla.

what is it? a couple of dollars? if you dont want it, dont buy it.

He is right. I bought it knowing it, but still sucks. It almost feel like a F2P game. If the DLCs were on Steam it will be "ok", but you have to use GFWL, so no sales or anything. Worst, the Monte Carlo DLC (the only one I found interesting) cost 800 MS points, but I can only buy 500 or 1000 points, not 800, so I have to spend more than the price of the DLC thanks to MS stupid system.

Some of the DLCs are crap anyway (claxon sounds and unlockers for saving time) but the cars and rally events are nice : /

Yall are really arguing with me that it's a bad business model? I understnad DLC i really do, but the fact is you have to spend more money just to 100% the game.

You don't have to buy the DLC, the game is quite good just as it is. Remember that when it was released no one had any DLC, that came out months later. Most early players fully completed the game without any DLC and didn't feel cheated.

I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the Monte Carlo tracks. Each of the DLC cars is fun to drive but not "better" than the standard cars.

My only issue with the DLC is the fact that it seems so obtrusive. I'll just be scrolling through it and it'll be there, staring me in the face, as I try to select a car or an event.

I can't buy DLC, i got it on another digital store, because on steam isn't for my country, and now it says i should get them through windows live, but its so complicated to log in and after adding the dlc to the cart it says they don't recognize my computer, and i can't due to security issues. Great microsoft as always.

Ahh man, I'm not gonna lie. Seeing that big, stupid DLC sign in-game is just so annoying. CM seems to have dropped GFWL with Grid 2, so hopefully we won't have anything as glaring from them on the DLC front. I'm not going to be buying anything else from them Day One though. I'm going to wait for sales.

To be fair, the DLC maps in BF3 aren't nearly as obtrusive. When I pick a race in DiRT 3, I'll start scrolling through a car to choose, and then there will be several bits of DLC, pushed into my face. Never seen that in BF3.

You don't have to buy any liveries or tracks to progress through the game, period. Buy it if you want it, don't buy it if you don't want it. It's not like this was launch DLC, it came out well after the game was released.

What planet has the OP been ion for the past 10 years??

Its like buying BF3 and then starting a thread moaning that you cant play one of the maps because its DLC.

Other people payed for the DLC and enjoy the tracks and you just cry because you cant join in for free after picking the game up dirt cheap in a sale .

Steam forums nothing but tears :)
Lol you're not even a troll, just stupid. You can't even complete a group of races bc you have to buy one that costs more money.

It's not about DLC. It's about you being limited until you pay extra for more cars. It's like playing a demo, and saying "Get this car with the full game," only it's not a demo. It's a full game.

I honestly don't think I'd mind at all if all of the DLC was tucked away somewhere, perhaps in a DLC tournament or something and, instead of the DLC cars hiding amongst the actually unlocked cars, it sits in a DLC car section.

yeah that's perfectly fine. But my second race I was limited to two cars, bc the others were locked DLC cars.
Kyon 7. apr. 2013 kl. 13:11
Happened to me as well.
I'd even be fine with being limited to two cars, just so long as the DLC cars aren't right there in my face, yelling at me to buy them.
supafly07 7. apr. 2013 kl. 15:06
The cars/liveries you have available are based on your level ingame. New liveries are unlocked each level you gain, and the liveries are sometimes for vehicle types/classes you haven't seen with only 2 or 3 hours in. But I digress. This is a great game, and if you feel that the DLC is blocking you from enjoying it, then you are missing out. Just give it some time, if you weren't interested already you wouldn't have bought it to begin with.
